Pakistan are considering changes for the Lord’s Test after a heavy Leeds defeat, with Babar Azam’s return, Mohammad Rizwan’s rest and a two-spinner combination under review

LONDON (Dunya News) – Pakistan are considering changes to their playing XI for the second Test against England at Lord’s after suffering a heavy defeat in the opening match of the series at Headingley.

The second Test will begin at Lord’s on August 27, with the Pakistan team set to finalize its playing XI after assessing the conditions in London. The management is considering possible changes following the team’s disappointing performance in the first Test.

According to sources, wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan could be rested for the Lord’s Test as the management weighs changes to the team after the heavy defeat at Leeds.

The management is also hopeful of Babar Azam’s return. Babar missed the first Test due to a finger injury, and if he returns to the playing XI, Azan Awais is likely to be dropped.

Sources said Pakistan could take the field with two spinners at Lord’s due to the dry conditions in London. Fast bowler Ubaid Shah is also likely to be preferred for the second Test because of his pace.

The conditions in London are expected to be different and dry, while a flat pitch is also anticipated for the Lord’s Test. Pakistan will assess the conditions before finalizing its combination for the crucial second match.
