Pakistan stocks retreat after early rally, KSE-100 closes 1,109 points lower

Updated on:

Pakistan’s KSE-100 Index fell 1,109 points on Wednesday after gaining more than 900 points early in the session, highlighting continued volatility in the stock market.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan’s stock market reversed its early gains on Wednesday as selling pressure emerged during the session, pushing the benchmark KSE-100 Index into negative territory by the close.   The index initially gained more than 900 points after trading began, reaching an intraday level of 178,860 points amid a positive trend.   However, the bullish momentum failed to sustain as selling intensified later in the session. The KSE-100 Index eventually closed at 176,848 points, down 1,109 points from the previous close.   The benchmark had ended the previous trading session at 177,955 points.   The sharp intraday reversal reflected heightened volatility in the market, with early buying interest giving way to profit-taking and selling pressure.
