Dar appreciates outgoing UN coordinator's role in strengthening Pakistan-UN ties

Ishaq Dar bids farewell to UN Resident Coordinator Mohamed Yahya, praising his contribution to Pakistan-UN cooperation and congratulating him on his new UN humanitarian affairs role.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Wednesday received UN Resident Coordinator in Pakistan, Mohamed Yahya for a farewell call.

DPM/FM appreciated Mr. Yahya’s contributions to strengthening Pakistan-UN cooperation and acknowledged the work of the UN Country Team under his leadership, according to a press release issued by the Foreign Office.

The deputy prime minister congratulated Mr. Yahya on his appointment as Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator at the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

Mohamed Yahya thanked DPM/FM and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their support during his tenure in Pakistan and expressed his desire to continue working closely with Pakistan in his new role.
