Girls dominate AJK matric results, securing top positions

Female students dominated AJK’s 2026 matric results, securing top positions across Science and General groups and showcasing outstanding academic performance.

MUZAFFARABAD (Muhammad Aslam Mir) - The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Mirpur has announced the results of the 2026 annual Matriculation (Secondary School Certificate Part-II) examinations, with female students securing a dominant share of the top positions.

According to the results, female students secured all three top positions in the General Group, while they also dominated the Science Group, securing the joint first position and several other top slots.

In the Science Group for female students, Samia Chaudhry of Peace Educational Institute Sehnsa, Kotli, Imama Muzammil of Red Foundation College Mirpur and Mehroosh Naeem Abbasi of Red Foundation High School Singer Bathara, Bagh, jointly secured first position with 1,184 marks out of 1,200.

Makhzara Shahid and Natalia Mehboob jointly secured second position with 1,183 marks, while Warda Amjad, Adeeba Zaheer, Momina Shahid, Sana Ejaz and Aiman Ejaz jointly secured third position with 1,182 marks.

In the Science Group for male students, Abdullah Riaz of Government High School Gorah, Sudhanoti, secured first position with 1,178 marks.

Ahmed Tahir Raja of Red Foundation High School DhirKot, Bagh, and Sarmad Hafeez Awan of Red Foundation School Bagnam, Muzaffarabad, jointly secured second position with 1,176 marks, while Raja Hassan Ali of the same school secured third position with 1,175 marks.

In the General Group for female students, Faryal Imran of Government Girls High School Makhyala, Bagh, secured first position with 1,127 marks. Imama Fatima of Kashmir Public School Phagwari, Kotli, secured second position with 1,110 marks, while Amreen Mazhar of Royal Model School Bhimber secured third position with 1,108 marks.

In the General Group for male students, private candidate Abdullah Masood Tauheedi from Bagh secured first position with 1,117 marks. Muhammad Ayan of Government Pilot High School Bagh secured second position with 1,110 marks, while private candidate Muhammad Areeb Khan from Bagh secured third position with 1,102 marks.

The results showed a particularly strong performance by female students, who dominated the top positions in both Science and General groups.

Samia Chaudhry, who secured joint first position in the Science Group with 1,184 marks, attributed her success to the blessings of Allah Almighty, her parents’ prayers and teachers’ guidance. She said she intended to pursue higher education and serve the country.

Imama Muzammil, another joint first-position holder with 1,184 marks, described the achievement as a moment of great happiness and honour. She credited her parents and teachers, saying consistent hard work and effective time management were key to her success.

Mehroosh Naeem Abbasi, who also secured joint first position with 1,184 marks, said she maintained a regular study routine and devoted additional time to difficult subjects. She advised students to adopt hard work, discipline and consistency.

Abdullah Riaz, who topped the Science Group among male students with 1,178 marks, described his achievement as a matter of pride and credited his parents and teachers. He said he wanted to pursue higher education and contribute positively to his region and country.

Faryal Imran, who secured first position in the General Group among female students with 1,127 marks, said she was extremely happy upon learning of her result. She stressed that female students should be provided greater opportunities to advance in education.

Abdullah Masood Tauheedi, who secured first position among male students in the General Group with 1,117 marks as a private candidate, said the achievement was a special honour. He said private candidates could also achieve outstanding results through proper guidance and consistent hard work.
