LAHORE (Dunya News) – Members of provincial assembly (MPAs) from Okara held a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to discuss the province’s political situation, ongoing development projects and public issues in their constituencies.

The meeting was attended by MPAs Ashiq Hussain Shah, Javed Alauddin Sajid, Chaudhry Iftikhar Hussain Chhichhar, Noor-ul-Amin Wattoo, Ali Abbas, Mian Yawar Zaman, Mian Muhammad Munir and Ghulam Raza.

The lawmakers briefed the chief minister on issues faced by residents in their respective constituencies. Maryam Nawaz assured them of her government’s cooperation and directed them to maintain close contact with the public and play an effective role in resolving their problems.

The MPAs praised the chief minister for establishing an integrated Safe City network across 41 districts and two tehsils. They also thanked her for the construction and rehabilitation of the bypass road from Okara’s GT Road and for launching an electrobus service for citizens.

According to the lawmakers, electrobuses in Okara are operating from the General Bus Stand to Akhtarabad, Karmanwala, Adda Kissan and Okara University. They described free travel facilities for students, women and senior citizens as a positive initiative.

The lawmakers also praised the Safe City project and police actions, saying these measures were contributing to a gradual decline in crime across Punjab. They described initiatives including electrobuses, the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar programme and the Kisan Card as popular among the public.

CM Maryam Nawaz said her government wanted to complete as many public projects as possible within a short period. She said the Safa Punjab programme was being used to improve cleanliness across cities and villages without discrimination.

The chief minister said she was pleased to hear about improvements in the quality of life of Punjab’s residents. She added that efforts were being made to reduce the gap between Lahore and less-developed cities and to expand electrobus services to cities and villages across the province.
