LONDON (Dunya News) - British singer Ellie Goulding has filed a lawsuit against her former managers, Ben Mawson and Ed Millet of TaP Management, alleging that they failed to disclose an ownership relationship between the management company’s parent company and Live Nation.
According to Variety, Goulding claims that TaP’s parent company, HNOE, was partially and later fully owned by Live Nation during the period in which Mawson and Millet managed her. She alleges that the arrangement created a conflict of interest that could have affected decisions concerning her career and commercial interests.
Mawson and Millet represented Goulding from 2018 until 2025 and allegedly received a 20% commission under their management arrangement, according to the lawsuit.
During that period, Goulding entered into agreements with companies within the Live Nation group covering areas including touring, merchandise and a documentary film.
The singer alleges that she was not aware of Live Nation’s ownership of her management company. Her legal claim further states that the managers were contractually restricted from taking actions that could terminate, reduce or otherwise diminish their clients’ business relationships with Live Nation or its affiliates.
According to the lawsuit, Goulding argues that Mawson and Millet’s alleged positions as Live Nation employees gave them a personal interest in transactions between the singer and companies within the Live Nation group.
The claim alleges that this created an actual or potential conflict between the managers’ interests and Goulding’s interests in negotiating the most favourable commercial terms with promoters, merchandisers and other business partners.
The lawsuit centers on whether the alleged ownership structure and the managers’ relationship with Live Nation compromised their ability to act solely in Goulding’s best interests.
The allegations have been made in legal proceedings and have not been established in court.
