ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said a medical report concerning PTI founder Imran Khan’s health was extremely alarming.
Addressing a press conference alongside Junaid Akbar and Asad Qaiser, Sohail Afridi said a detailed meeting would be held with Imran Khan’s personal doctor, after which a clear course of action would be announced following consultations with his doctors, family and legal team.
The KP chief minister said Imran Khan’s blood pressure had remained normal whenever he was examined by Dr Faisal Sultan and Dr Asim Yousaf, whereas the government medical report had recorded his blood pressure at 140/100.
“If the official report shows blood pressure at 140/100, how serious could the actual situation be?” he questioned.
Sohail Afridi said Imran Khan was not being allowed to meet his lawyers and personal doctors, stressing that his treatment should take place in the presence of his family and personal physicians.

He said Imran Khan had been physically fit when he was arrested, questioning who would be held responsible for his deteriorating health.
The KP chief minister said the judiciary had not taken notice of Imran Khan’s health despite repeated demands, adding that the judiciary was the last hope of 250 million people.
“If the country’s most popular leader does not receive justice, how will an ordinary citizen get justice?” he asked.
Sohail Afridi said the judiciary would have to consider where it was heading, warning that if justice was not delivered through institutions, the people would seek justice themselves.
He said a hearing in Imran Khan’s case was scheduled for the following day and once again appealed to the judiciary to facilitate a meeting between the PTI founder and his family.
He added that the PTI would only be satisfied after Imran Khan’s family was allowed to meet him.
