Rana Sanaullah said jail authorities and the judiciary would be responsible for any negligence in Imran Khan’s medical treatment, claiming timely facilities were provided.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Rana Sanaullah has said that the jail authorities and judiciary would be responsible if former prime minister Imran Khan faces any negligence in medical treatment.

Speaking during a Senate session on Monday, Sanaullah was responding to a statement by the opposition leader regarding Imran Khan’s health.

He said Imran Khan is currently in the custody of the jail authorities and under the oversight of the judiciary, adding that any lapse in his medical treatment would therefore be the responsibility of these institutions.

Sanaullah said timely medical facilities had been provided to Imran Khan and that medical tests had been conducted both at the jail and at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).

He added that, according to the information available to the government, Imran Khan himself was satisfied with the treatment being provided to him.

The federal minister further said several petitions concerning Imran Khan had been filed before the courts, while applications seeking meetings with him were also pending before the Supreme Court and the Islamabad High Court.
