ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi held a meeting with former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser, during which they discussed the release of PTI founder Imran Khan and supremacy of the Constitution.
The meeting also focused on convening a meeting of the Tehreek Tahafuz Aain-e-Pakistan in Islamabad, where consultations on the opposition’s future political strategy will be held.
The two leaders agreed on the need to unite opposition parties on a common platform to strengthen democracy, uphold the Constitution and reinforce the parliamentary system.
Chief Minister Sohail Afridi also decided to visit Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
During the visits, he will meet political leaders and participate in a public outreach campaign.

The schedule for meetings and consultations will be finalised after discussions with party organisations in the respective regions, with all opposition parties to be taken into confidence.
The meeting also decided to formulate a joint strategy to further organise and strengthen the movement and expand its public outreach campaign.
The participants agreed to continue their joint struggle for the release of Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi and all political prisoners, as well as for justice and the protection of democratic rights.
It was further decided that jirgas and consultative meetings would be held with lawyers, students, farmers, workers and representatives of other sections of society as part of the broader outreach effort.
