ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The government on Thursday announced an increase in the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD), with the revised rates coming into effect from Friday, August 14.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs0.45 per litre, taking it to Rs325.43 per litre.
The price of high-speed diesel has also been raised by Rs1.16 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs383.95 per litre.
The revised prices will remain applicable for August 14, according to the notification.

The government continues to levy Rs114 per litre in taxes and duties on petrol and Rs100 per litre on high-speed diesel.
The latest adjustment follows the previous day's announcement, when the government had reduced the petrol price by 94 paisas per litre while increasing the price of high-speed diesel by 54 paisas per litre.
The latest increase will raise fuel costs for consumers and may have an impact on transportation and other sectors dependent on petroleum products.
