KARACHI (Dunya News) – Corruption cases transferred from accountability courts to anti-corruption courts have been shifted back to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) courts, following a Sindh High Court ruling.
The accountability court has initiated proceedings to revive 15 references on the request of the NAB prosecutor.
The Sindh High Court had annulled the order transferring cases from accountability courts to anti-corruption courts and directed that all the cases be returned to NAB courts.
The accountability court issued notices to the accused nominated in 15 different references and summoned them.
Balochistan Provincial Minister Ali Hassan Brohi has also been nominated in cases related to illegal land allotment and corruption. The court also issued notices to former Sindh chief secretary and Land Utilisation member Siddiq Memon.
The court summoned former Malir deputy commissioner Qazi Jan Muhammad and former district revenue officer Ijaz Hussain. Notices were also issued to former Additional Secretary Land Utilisation Abdul Qadir Memon and former Section Officer Ghulam Mustafa.
The accountability court also summoned Treasury Officer Muhammad Musa Kazmi, Assistant Treasury Officer Abdul Latif Khoso and others. Notices were also issued to Mirpur Sakro's tapedar Nisar Ahmed Wagan and Ali Asghar Mendhro.
Notices were also issued to former Mukhtiarkar Iqbal Awan, former Malir Deputy Commissioner Qazi Jan Muhammad and Muhammad Hanif.
The accountability court also summoned builders Javed Iqbal and Waseem Ahmed Sheikh, along with several revenue officials.
