KHANEWAL (Dunya News) – In a bizarre turn of events, a woman, who married the man she liked, was murdered allegedly by her father, brother and uncles, two days after the wedding in Sadar Police jurisdiction here on Wednesday.
According to police, the woman identified as Iqra had married Muhammad Sohail of her own choice three days ago. The family allegedly brought her home after telling her in-laws that they would send their daughter off from their home in a dignified manner.
According to sources, after bringing Iqra back home, her father Falak Sher, along with his two brothers and a son, allegedly strangled her.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police took action and registered a murder case against the accused Falak Sher, his two brothers, and a son on the complaint of the victim's husband, Muhammad Sohail.
Police have arrested Falak Sher while efforts are under way to arrest the other accused. Rescue personnel shifted the victim's body to the district hospital for postmortem.
