ISLAMABAD (Dunya News): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has strongly condemned the Houthi attack on a commercial vessel in the Red Sea.
The attack targeted the Tanzania-flagged vessel Tihamah, causing deaths and injuries among its crew. An Indonesian national was also killed in the attack.

— Ishaq Dar (@MIshaqDar50) August 12, 2026In a statement posted on social media platform X, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said three Pakistani citizens were killed and one was injured in the attack. He expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased Pakistanis.
Dar said Pakistan strongly condemns Houthi attacks on non-combatant commercial vessels, adding that such attacks endanger innocent lives, violate international law and pose a serious threat to freedom of navigation, maritime security and the safety of commercial shipping in the Red Sea.
He said Pakistan was in contact with the relevant Saudi authorities and Yemen's internationally recognised government to ascertain further details of the incident and the circumstances surrounding it.
Dar directed the Pakistan Embassy in Riyadh to immediately coordinate with the concerned authorities and strongly pursue all necessary measures for the retrieval and repatriation of the mortal remains of the deceased Pakistani nationals. He also directed the embassy to provide all possible assistance to the injured Pakistani national.
Dar said Pakistan was following the situation and would remain in close contact with the concerned authorities.
Yesterday, the Yemeni government and coast guard sources had said that the Houthis attacked a cargo vessel near Bab al-Mandab in the Red Sea. The attack targeted the vessel's deck and killed three crew members.
