Pakistan cuts petrol price by Rs1.70 but raises diesel rate by Rs1.39

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan has announced fresh petroleum prices, cutting the rate of petrol by Rs1.70 per litre while increasing the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs1.39 per litre.

According to a press release issued by the Petroleum Division on Tuesday, the revised prices will take effect from August 12, 2026. The changes were made by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) under the revised petroleum pricing mechanism introduced by the federal government.

The price of motor spirit, commonly known as petrol, has been reduced from Rs327.62 to Rs325.92 per litre, representing a decrease of Rs1.70.

In contrast, the price of high-speed diesel has increased from Rs380.86 to Rs382.25 per litre, a rise of Rs1.39.

The Petroleum Division said OGRA had revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products in accordance with the revised pricing mechanism issued by the federal government.
