(Web Desk) –Music star Atif Aslam has spoken about his long musical career, creative struggles, the real meaning behind his famous song Aadat, his latest album and his decision to return to independent music after 18 years.

In a recent interview, Atif said he had never thought about quitting music. He explained that creative blocks are a normal part of an artist’s life. According to him, there are times when an artist feels empty and does not know what to write. At other times, inspiration comes naturally. He believes both stages are important and artists should remain patient.

Talking about his famous song Aadat, Atif said many people believe it is only about heartbreak. However, he explained that the song was originally about self-awareness and how people change and adjust themselves according to different situations.

He also discussed Subha Aye Na, a song from his recently released fourth studio album. He said the track is about exploring oneself and having faith in Allah. Atif added that most of his music comes from his own life and experiences. He does not need to look at other people for inspiration because his own journey has given him many stories to tell.

Atif also explained why he decided to make an independent album after 18 years. He said he wanted to move away from music that was mainly driven by commercial interests. Instead, he wanted to return to writing and composing songs for himself. He described this as going “back to zero” and becoming the fearless musician who simply wants to create and release music.

For Atif, returning to his roots also means appreciating the people who supported him throughout his career.

He recalled a memorable meeting with a fan during a show in India. The fan had travelled around 1,000 kilometres and worked selling glasses on the roadside.

He brought some glasses as a gift for Atif. The fan also showed him a video of how he celebrated Atif’s birthday every year with friends, posters and a cake. Atif called it one of the sweetest things a fan had ever done for him.

Looking back at his success, Atif said he is still surprised by how far his career has come. He admitted that he never expected such a journey. His music now has a large audience outside Pakistan, especially in Bangladesh and India.

For Atif, music is not just about success. It is about creating, exploring himself and staying connected to the people who have supported him.
