ISLAMABAD/TEHRAN (Dunya News) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Monday, with the two sides discussing regional and international developments, including efforts to promote peace and stability.
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the two foreign ministers exchanged views on the evolving situation in the region and discussed efforts aimed at strengthening peace and stability.
During the conversation, Dar also shared with Araghchi the contours of the recently signed Makkah Joint Defence Agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
Dar underscored that the agreement was aimed at strengthening strategic cooperation among the three countries and contributing to regional peace and security.
The Iranian foreign minister thanked Dar for sharing the key aspects of the agreement, according to the Foreign Office.
The Makkah Joint Defence Agreement brings Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye into closer strategic cooperation, with regional security and defence collaboration forming a key part of the arrangement.
The conversation comes amid an evolving regional situation, with diplomatic engagement continuing over developments affecting peace and stability in the wider region.
The two ministers also agreed to remain in close contact on matters of mutual interest, signalling continued diplomatic coordination between Pakistan and Iran.
The Foreign Office said the discussion covered both regional and international developments, while the two sides reiterated the importance of efforts to promote peace and stability.
