MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) - Polling is continuing peacefully in four constituencies of Bagh and Haveli during the third phase of the 2026 Azad Jammu and Kashmir general elections, Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retd) Ghulam Mustafa Mughal said on Monday.
Speaking exclusively to Dunya News, Justice (retd) Mughal said voter turnout in Bagh and Haveli had crossed 50%, while complaints received from some political parties were addressed on the spot through the relevant authorities.
He said polling arrangements in all four constituencies were being continuously monitored to ensure a smooth electoral process.
The chief election commissioner said some complaints raised by political parties and candidates had been resolved immediately, allowing polling to continue without disruption.
Meanwhile, one person died after suffering cardiac arrest outside a polling station in DhirKot, according to the chief election commissioner. He said necessary action had been taken following the incident.
In another incident in Haveli, a man allegedly attempted to flee from a polling station with election bags. Police arrested the suspect and recovered the bags before handing them back to the polling staff.
Justice (retd) Mughal said polling resumed after the election material was returned to the relevant staff.
The third phase of the AJK elections is being closely watched as polling concludes in the remaining constituencies, with authorities maintaining security and monitoring arrangements throughout the voting process.
