Hearing against non-approval of summary for judges' appointment today

The petition has taken the position that necessary directions should be issued to the President's Secretary for approving the summary regarding the appointment of new judges.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Islamabad High Court (IHC) will resume hearing of a case pertaining to non-approval of a summary by the President for the appointment judges in the Islamabad High Court here on Monday (today).

The petition regarding the non-approval of the summary for the appointment of new judges in the Islamabad High Court has been fixed for re-hearing. Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir will hear the petition at 11am.

The petition has been filed by Advocate Luqman Zafar against President's failure to approve the summary regarding the appointment of new judges. Advocate Zahid Asif Chaudhry is the lawyer for the petitioner.

The petition has taken the position that necessary directions should be issued to the President's Secretary for approving the summary regarding the appointment of new judges.

On the other hand, the petitioner has requested the court to direct the President's Secretary to take steps to approve the summary.

The Islamabad High Court has scheduled the petition for re-hearing on Monday, where legal and constitutional aspects of the matter will be reviewed.
