Apple says Mac users in China can connect to Alibaba's Qwen AI service

NEW YORK (Web Desk) - AI Financial Corp, a company closely affiliated with World Liberty Financial, the cryptocurrency venture backed by the Trump family, has sold its Canadian unit to New York-based PrimeDelta Corp, weeks after fintech firm Perpetuals.com abandoned talks to acquire the subsidiary.

According to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, AI Financial will receive a $12 million secured promissory note, including $1 million due next week and the remainder payable over time, along with approximately 11.6 million PrimeDelta shares for the sale of ALT5 Sigma Canada.

The filing did not disclose the rationale behind the transaction. AI Financial, formerly known as ALT5 Sigma, and PrimeDelta did not immediately respond to requests for comment outside regular business hours.

PrimeDelta is a financial platform focused on the tokenization of securities. The company was previously involved in a legal dispute with ALT5 Sigma, which had alleged that PrimeDelta was linked to a former consultant accused of misappropriating company data for a competing business. The dispute was settled in December without either side admitting wrongdoing.

World Liberty Financial partnered with ALT5 Sigma in August 2025 in a deal under which ALT5 Sigma raised $750 million through the sale of new shares and used $717 million to purchase World Liberty tokens.

Reuters has reported that the transaction resulted in more than $500 million being directed to the Trump family under its arrangement with World Liberty Financial.

AI Financial's share price has fallen sharply since the August 11, 2025 deal, dropping from above $9 to around 44 cents on Friday, leaving the company with a market value of approximately $61 million.

The sale of ALT5 Sigma Canada to PrimeDelta comes about three weeks after Perpetuals.com said it had abandoned its plans to acquire the business without providing further details.
