RIYADH (Dunya News) – The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has welcomed the defence agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, describing it as an important step towards strengthening regional security and stability.
OIC Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha welcomed the Makkah defence agreement and expressed full support for the strategic initiative. He praised the leadership and efforts of the three countries that led to the agreement.
He said the pact was significant for peace and stability in the region and the wider Muslim world, while also reflecting a shared commitment to addressing growing security challenges and strengthening cooperation among member states.
Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry described the agreement as an important addition to the broader regional defence framework, highlighting the military capabilities and expertise of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
The ministry said the agreement reflected the three countries’ established record in promoting regional security and stability and fulfilling international commitments.
Bahrain also said the pact would strengthen the Gulf Cooperation Council’s collective defence system through greater solidarity and strategic integration. It reaffirmed support for measures aimed at protecting national sovereignty and regional security.
