KARACHI (Dunya News) - Sindh Interior and Law Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar has strongly rejected allegations made by former finance minister Miftah Ismail regarding recruitment in the Sindh Police, saying President Asif Ali Zardari represents all federating units of Pakistan and not a single province or ethnic group.
In a statement, Lanjar said the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is the country's true federal political party, representing people from all provinces and linguistic communities. He added that portraying President Zardari as the representative of only one province or ethnicity was contrary to facts and harmful to national unity.
The provincial minister said all government recruitments across Sindh, particularly in Karachi, are conducted in accordance with the law, the quota policy and merit. He maintained that the Sindh Police is a professional and impartial institution where officers and personnel from diverse linguistic backgrounds are serving.

Lanjar said the Sindh government does not believe in discrimination based on language, ethnicity, region or community. He described Karachi as the capital of Sindh, Pakistan's economic hub and a shared city belonging to all communities.
The minister urged Miftah Ismail to avoid making baseless allegations or statements that could fuel ethnic divisions, saying political leaders should act responsibly.
He further said that if Miftah Ismail possesses evidence regarding any specific recruitment, he should present it before the relevant legal and administrative forums.
Lanjar added that the people of Sindh had repeatedly rejected politics based on hatred, prejudice and division, and would continue to do so. He also called on Miftah Ismail to clarify and withdraw what he described as an irresponsible and factually incorrect statement.
