ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) — A new record for corporate incorporations was established in Pakistan during July, according to data released by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). A total of 5,438 new companies registered during the month, underscoring growing commercial activity across the country.
The SECP report revealed that five international firms established corporate offices in Pakistan, with businesses originating from Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, and China relocating operations to the country. Furthermore, foreign directors were appointed across 112 of the newly incorporated entities.
A breakdown of the corporate structure shows that 3,148 private limited companies, 2,117 single-member companies, 127 limited liability partnerships, 28 non-profit organizations, and 18 public companies were registered during the period.

Geographically, Punjab led the registrations with 51% of the total at 2,756 companies, followed by Islamabad with 1,053, Sindh with 864, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 450, Gilgit-Baltistan with 180, and Balochistan with 135 new incorporations.
The information technology sector topped the industry-wise distribution, accounting for 1,008 new companies. Other major sectors included trading with 845 registrations, services with 638, construction with 348, food and beverages with 256, tourism with 207, e-commerce with 181, education with 165, real estate development with 162, and corporate agriculture with 145.
