ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has suspended an order requiring the disclosure of financial details of Pakistan’s national cricket team players, including salaries, match fees, central contracts, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) budget details, and other financial benefits.
IHC Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar issued a stay order on petition filed by PCB, suspending the Pakistan Information Commission’s July 9 decision until the next hearing.
The court also issued notices to the Pakistan Information Commission and citizen Kashif Shehzad Awan, seeking their responses on the matter.
Appearing before the court, PCB counsel Kashif Malik Advocate argued that the requested information was not limited to institutional expenses but also included personal financial details of individuals and confidential contractual information.
After hearing the arguments, the court stopped implementation of the information commission’s order and adjourned further proceedings.
