(Web Desk) - Pakistan's boxer Fatima Zahra has secured the country's first medal at the Commonwealth Games after defeating New Zealand's Jordan Wilson in the women's 60kg quarterfinal.
Fatima delivered a dominant performance at SEC Hall 5 in Glasgow, securing a unanimous 5-0 victory on points to book her place in the semifinals.
The Pakistani boxer impressed throughout the three-round bout, with the judges scoring the contest 29-28, 29-28, 30-27, 29-28 and 29-28 in her favour.
Her quarterfinal victory guarantees Fatima at least a bronze medal, making her the first Pakistani athlete to win a medal at the ongoing Commonwealth Games.
Fatima will now compete in the semifinals, where she will look to continue her winning run and secure a place in the final.
