Updated on:

Pakistan Stock Exchange closed lower on Tuesday as the KSE-100 Index fell 638 points, while investors traded 950 million shares worth Rs41 billion.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) ended Tuesday's trading session in negative territory, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index losing 638 points as investors booked profits after recent gains.

The benchmark KSE-100 Index settled at 177,623 points, down 638 points from the previous close, reflecting a weaker trading session dominated by selling pressure.

During intraday trading, the index climbed to a high of 179,123 points before falling to a session low of 177,434 points, highlighting increased market volatility.

Overall market activity remained strong despite the decline, with investors trading approximately 950 million shares valued at around Rs41 billion.

Market participants attributed the pullback to profit-taking after recent gains, although trading volumes indicated that investor interest remained active across multiple sectors.

Analysts said investors are likely to keep a close watch on upcoming economic developments, corporate earnings and policy announcements, which could influence market sentiment in the coming sessions.

Despite Tuesday's decline, the Pakistan Stock Exchange has remained one of the region's closely watched equity markets, with investors monitoring macroeconomic indicators and business fundamentals for future direction.
