JOHANNESBURG (Web Desk) – Four Pakistani nationals were shot dead in a suspected targeted attack by unidentified gunmen in the Sebenza area of South Africa, police said.
According to police, the victims were returning home on Saturday evening when armed assailants travelling in another vehicle opened fire on them from both sides after intercepting their car at a traffic signal. All four Pakistanis died at the scene.
Investigators recovered multiple 9mm pistol shell casings from the crime scene. Police officials said the nature of the attack suggests it was a targeted killing, although investigations are ongoing to establish the motive and identify those responsible.
Law enforcement authorities have launched a search for the attackers and are examining all available evidence as part of the investigation.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed profound grief over the killing of the four Pakistanis in South Africa. In a statement, she extended her heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for strength and patience for them during this difficult time.
