Three siblings drown after embankment breach in Sheikhupura

SHEIKHUPURA (Dunya News) - Three young siblings from the same family drowned after an embankment collapsed in Ferozewala, a town in Punjab's Sheikhupura district, rescue officials said.

According to rescue sources, the embankment along the Bher drain breached near Pathan Colony, causing a large amount of water to accumulate close to nearby homes.

The three children, identified as Daniyal, Nauman and Burhan, reportedly entered the water to bathe but drowned after venturing into a deeper section.

Rescue teams rushed to the scene after receiving the alert and recovered the children from the water before shifting them to hospital, where doctors confirmed their deaths.

Local residents have urged the authorities to ensure the timely repair of drains and embankments and implement stronger safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
