WASHINGTON (Web Desk) - The White House has said that all options remain on the table regarding Iran, while reiterating that President Donald Trump continues to favour a diplomatic resolution.
Speaking to Fox News, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung said President Trump has consistently maintained that diplomacy is his preferred course of action.
However, he warned that if Iran continues hostile activities in the Strait of Hormuz or against US allies, the president is prepared to consider all available options.
Cheung added that, following what he described as successful sanctions that severely weakened Iran's economy and 13 consecutive days of strikes against military targets in response to Iran's repeated aggressive actions, the prudent course for Tehran would be to enter negotiations for an agreement.

Otherwise, he said, "they know what could happen."
Earlier, the foreign press reported that President Trump has decided, at least for now, not to expand US military strikes against Iran.
According to the reports, the decision was made on Friday after officials raised concerns over dwindling stocks of Patriot air defence missiles and the possibility of alienating Washington's Arab allies in the Gulf.
Meanwhile, the Iranian military has also confirmed that it has suspended its operations following the halt in US strikes.
