LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has strongly criticised recent statements by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) spokespersons, urging political opponents to choose their words carefully and show respect for senior political figures.
She said political disagreements should not cross the boundaries of decency, accusing the PPP leadership and its spokespersons of repeatedly mocking Raiwind and ridiculing elderly individuals.
Bukhari said it was inappropriate to make fun of someone of a father's age and then object when a response was given. She added that political criticism should be met with the same standards of respect expected from all parties.
Addressing PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, she said he was not above criticism and alleged that he had made misleading statements and false propaganda by referring to different cities in Punjab during his speeches.
The Punjab information minister called on the PPP to keep political differences within the limits of civility and refrain from personal attacks and derogatory remarks.
