ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The government on Thursday announced a fresh increase in the prices of petroleum products, raising the cost of both petrol and high-speed diesel under the latest price adjustment.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs4.40 per litre, taking the new retail price to Rs331.52 per litre.
The price of high-speed diesel has also been raised by Rs3.62 per litre, bringing its new retail price to Rs378.66 per litre.
The Petroleum Division said the revised prices were determined on the recommendations of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and would come into effect from midnight.
The latest revision follows another significant increase announced by the government in the previous pricing review.
On that occasion, the price of petrol was raised by Rs6.39 per litre, while high-speed diesel became Rs7.83 per litre more expensive.

The successive increases are expected to add to transportation and logistics costs, with potential implications for inflation and the prices of essential commodities.
High-speed diesel is widely used in the transport, agriculture, and industrial sectors, while petrol is the primary fuel for private vehicles and motorcycles.
