Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz arrive at Muzaffarabad rally ahead of AJK elections

The rally comes as political parties continue to step up campaigning across Azad Jammu and Kashmir ahead of the multi-phase elections.

MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) staged a major political rally in Muzaffarabad on Tuesday as part of its campaign for the 2026 Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections.

Former prime minister and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, accompanied by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, arrived at the rally venue where they were warmly welcomed by PML-N AJK President Shah Ghulam Qadir, party leaders, and supporters.

Party workers and supporters gathered in large numbers at the venue as preparations for the public meeting were completed. Security and administrative arrangements were also finalised ahead of the event.

Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz are scheduled to address the gathering later in the day. Their speeches are expected to focus on the current political situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the party’s election strategy, and its vision for the region ahead of the upcoming polls.

According to party sources, the rally is being attended by senior PML-N leaders from both the central leadership and the AJK chapter. The event is also expected to include discussions on intensifying the election campaign and mobilising party workers in the run-up to the elections.
