Iranian interior minister receives ceremonial welcome at Islamabad Police Lines

A ceremonial parade was also held in honour of the Iranian interior minister as part of the official reception.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni received a ceremonial welcome at Islamabad Police Lines on Monday, where he was presented with a guard of honour during his official visit to Pakistan.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry accompanied the Iranian minister to the Police Lines, where a smartly turned-out contingent of Islamabad Police welcomed the visiting dignitary with a formal salute.

A ceremonial parade was also held in honour of the Iranian interior minister as part of the official reception.

Iranian interior minister visits Pakistan Monument, pays tribute to martyrs

Earlier in the day, Momeni visited the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad, where he was received by Talal Chaudhry. A contingent of the Federal Constabulary presented him with a guard of honour upon his arrival.

During the visit, the Iranian minister laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs' Memorial (Yadgar-e-Shuhada) and offered prayers in tribute to those who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. He paid homage to the martyrs and acknowledged their services and sacrifices.

Officials also briefed the visiting minister on the historical and national significance of the Pakistan Monument. Momeni appreciated the importance of the national landmark and visited the Martyrs' Memorial before viewing Islamabad city and the Margalla Hills from Shakarparian.

Inspector General of the Federal Constabulary Riaz Nazir Gara, the Deputy Inspector General of Islamabad Police, and other senior officials were also present during the visit.
