ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Judicial Commission of Pakistan has approved the appointment of 10 new judges to the Lahore High Court (LHC).

The approval was granted in a meeting chaired by Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afrid.

During the meeting, the commission considered the confirmation of one LHC judge as well as the appointment of 10 additional judges. A total of 24 candidates were in contention for the 10 vacant positions.

The commission approved the appointments of Syed Farhad Ali Shah, Amjad Pervaiz, Asad Bajwa, Ghulam Sarwar Nihung, Shireen Imran, Usman Ghani, Rashid Cheema, Munawar Duggal, Ameer Ajam Malik, Khalid Ibn Aziz, and Ajmal Khan as judges of LHC.

Following deliberations on the shortlisted candidates, the judicial commission granted approval for the appointments.
