CTD kills wanted militant commander in intelligence-based operation in DI Khan

A wanted militant commander was killed during a CTD intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan after allegedly opening fire on security personnel, officials said.

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has killed a wanted militant identified as Khalid alias Commander during an intelligence-based operation in the Dera Ismail Khan region, officials said.

According to the CTD, the suspect allegedly opened fire on the raiding team after refusing repeated calls to surrender, prompting personnel to retaliate, during which he was killed.

A CTD spokesperson said the slain militant was wanted in several terrorism-related cases, including the targeted killing of Constable Muhammad Ali. Officials added that he was affiliated with the TTP Zakir Kochi Karwan Group.

Authorities said a 9mm pistol, a hand grenade and a smartphone were recovered from the militant's possession. The seized items have been taken into custody for forensic examination.

Additional Inspector General CTD said intelligence-based operations against militants, their facilitators and support networks would continue without interruption.
