ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will travel to Qatar on Monday to offer condolences following the death of the country's former emir, according to government sources.
Sources said the prime minister will express Pakistan's sympathies to the Qatari leadership over the passing of former Emir Sheikh Hamad and is also expected to meet Qatar's Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, during the visit.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with other senior officials, will accompany the prime minister, the sources added.
The visit reflects the close diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Qatar and is aimed at conveying solidarity with the Qatari leadership and people during their period of mourning.
No further details regarding the prime minister's meetings or schedule have been officially announced.
