QUETTA (Dunya News) – According to security sources, nine more militants were killed during the ongoing Operation Shaban in Balochistan, raising the number of militants eliminated in the operation to 52 and bringing the overall number killed since July 5, including those eliminated in intelligence-based operations (IBOs), to 88.
Security sources said the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC) and police are continuing coordinated air and ground operations against militant hideouts across Balochistan under Operation Shaban.
Officials said the operation will continue until all militants involved are eliminated.
Balochistan govt releases report on Mangi Dam check post attack
Operation Shaban was launched on July 5 in the Shaban area of Quetta district following the deadly attack on the Mangi Dam pumping station police post, in which 27 police personnel were martyred.
During the attack, militants killed nine police officers, including two station house officers (SHOs), and abducted 18 others at gunpoint. The bodies of the abducted personnel were later recovered from the Zarghoon Gar mountainous area.
