Cargo plane crash investigation team returns after initial Karachi probe

Updated on:

Investigation team completes preliminary cargo plane crash inquiry in Karachi and will return after engine and black box recovery.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The investigation team tasked with probing the cargo plane crash in Karachi has returned to Islamabad after completing the initial phase of its inquiry.

According to sources, the 11-member team, led by Bureau of Safety Investigation chief Air Commodore Ahsan Nauman, arrived in Karachi two days ago to examine the circumstances surrounding the accident.

During its visit, the team reviewed the aircraft's maintenance records, ownership documents and other relevant material. Before departing, investigators also inspected the wreckage recovered from the sea.

Sources said the team concluded that the debris recovered so far was insufficient to determine the full cause of the crash.

The investigators are expected to return to Karachi once key components, including the aircraft's engine and flight data recorder (black box), are recovered to continue the investigation.
