Pakistan's federal cabinet has approved a four-year Hajj policy for 2027-2030, aiming to improve long-term planning, streamline operations and enhance services for pilgrims.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan's federal cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister, has approved the country's Hajj Policy and Plan for the 2027-2030 period, marking the first time a four-year framework has been adopted for Hajj management.

During the cabinet meeting, members received a detailed briefing on the new policy. Officials highlighted that, unlike previous one-year Hajj policies, the new framework is designed to provide greater continuity, improve long-term planning and strengthen the overall management of Hajj operations.

According to the briefing, the four-year policy aims to enhance operational efficiency and ensure better services and facilities for Pakistani pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia for Hajj.

The cabinet also commended Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf and the Ministry of Religious Affairs for what it described as successful Hajj arrangements during the current year.

An official statement said that standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other regulatory measures would be developed to implement the policy effectively.

The statement added that the policy could be amended whenever necessary to remain aligned with Saudi Arabia's laws and regulations governing Hajj operations.
