ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Ministry of Finance has developed a mobile application to facilitate the registration of retailers under the government's fixed tax scheme, with the final version expected to be introduced next week.
According to Finance Ministry sources, the application will be launched on a trial basis during the current week before its official rollout. Registration of small retailers through the mobile app is expected to begin next month.
Sources said retailers registered under the fixed tax scheme will be required to file their tax returns during September.
The ministry said the mobile application will be available in Urdu, English, Sindhi and Balochi. Registered retailers will also be issued the Federal Board of Revenue's (FBR) Green Plate through the system.
According to the sources, the FBR has already compiled information on more than 3.5 million retailers, while the government has set a revenue target of Rs50 billion from retailer registrations during the current fiscal year.
