LONDON (Dunya News) - Pakistan captain Fatima Sana has been named in the International Cricket Council's (ICC) Women's T20 World Cup 2026 Team of the Tournament, earning global recognition for her outstanding all-round performances despite Pakistan's early exit from the competition.
The ICC announced its 12-member Team of the Tournament on Monday, featuring players from eight nations.
Newly crowned champions Australia dominated the selection with four representatives, while runners-up England had two players included following their impressive run to the final.
Pakistan, India, South Africa, Ireland and Sri Lanka each secured one place in the elite lineup, while Scotland's Darcey Carter was named as the 12th player.
Australia's representatives include Beth Mooney, Ellyse Perry, Ash Gardner and captain Sophie Molineux.
England's Danni Wyatt-Hodge and Nat Sciver-Brunt also earned places after helping their side reach the final.
The remaining spots went to Pakistan captain Fatima Sana, India's Sree Charani, South Africa's Marizanne Kapp, Ireland's Orla Prendergast and Sri Lanka's Nilakshika Silva.
Fatima's selection emerged as one of the brightest moments of Pakistan's campaign.

Although the Green Shirts managed just one victory in the 12-team tournament — defeating the Netherlands in their final group-stage fixture — the 24-year-old captain consistently impressed with both bat and ball.
She finished the tournament with 11 wickets in five matches at an outstanding average of 11.27, while also scoring 85 runs to underline her value as one of the competition's leading all-rounders.
The ICC praised Fatima as the "beating heart" of Pakistan's campaign, highlighting her ability to deliver under pressure in key moments.
One of her standout performances came against South Africa, where she rescued Pakistan with an unbeaten 55 after the team had slumped to 50-8 before claiming figures of 3-16 with the ball, nearly inspiring an unlikely victory.
She also produced a match-winning spell of 3-12 against the Netherlands, playing a pivotal role in Pakistan's 37-run triumph in their final group-stage match.
