QUETTA, (Dunya News) - At least four people were killed and a young girl was seriously injured after unidentified gunmen opened fire in a suspected feud-related attack in the Badwan area of Qila Abdullah district, Balochistan, police said on Sunday.
According to police, the victims were identified as Ubaidullah, Ziaullah, Aimal and Mohammad Shahid. A young girl, identified as Bibi Saniya, sustained serious injuries in the shooting.
Rescue teams shifted the victims to the Trauma Centre at Mezi Adda, where doctors pronounced the four men dead. The injured girl was later referred to a hospital in Quetta for specialized medical treatment.
Following the incident, the bodies were handed over to the families after post-mortem examinations and completion of legal formalities.
Families stage highway protest Relatives of the victims placed the bodies on the Quetta-Chaman Highway and staged a sit-in, demanding the immediate arrest of those responsible and swift justice.
The protest caused significant traffic disruption on the busy national highway, leaving vehicles stranded for several hours.
Deputy Commissioner Qila Abdullah Munawar Hussain Magsi, accompanied by senior police and administrative officials, reached the protest site and held negotiations with the demonstrators.
After prolonged talks and assurances from the district administration that the case would be investigated on merit, the protesters agreed to reopen the highway for traffic.
Police said initial findings suggest the attack was linked to a long-standing personal or tribal feud. Authorities have launched an investigation to identify and arrest the attackers.
