LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday named Babar Azam as captain of the national Test team and announced a 17-member squad for the upcoming Test tours of the West Indies and England.
Pakistan will begin its overseas campaign with a two-match Test series against the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago. The first Test will be played from July 25 to 29, while the second is scheduled for August 2 to 6.
Following the Caribbean leg, Pakistan will travel to England for a three-match Test series. The opening Test will be held at Headingley in Leeds from August 19, followed by the second Test at Lord's from August 27. The series will conclude at Edgbaston in Birmingham, with the final Test beginning on September 9.
The squad includes Babar Azam (captain), Aamir Jamal, Abdullah Fazal, Ali Usman, Azan Awais, Imam-ul-Haq, Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper), Muhammad Awais Zafar, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori (wicketkeeper), Sajid Khan, Salman Ali Agha, Saud Shakeel, Shan Masood and Ubaid Shah.
The PCB said Saud Shakeel's inclusion for the England tour remains subject to fitness clearance.
Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi was not included in the squad announced for the two Test assignments.
