ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday extended warm felicitations to Donald Trump and the people of the United States on the historic occasion of the country’s 250th Independence Anniversary.

The prime minister noted that history has repeatedly shown Pakistan and the United States standing together during critical moments affecting global peace and security. He also acknowledged President Trump’s contribution to peace in South Asia and his efforts in helping resolve major conflicts around the world.
In a separate message, President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated President Trump and the American people on 250 years since the Declaration of Independence, describing the United States’ legacy as one built on strength, innovation and commitment to freedom, democracy and opportunity.
President Zardari said the achievements of the American people over the past two and a half centuries have contributed significantly to global progress and prosperity.
He said Pakistan and the United States share a long-standing relationship based on mutual respect, shared interests and a common commitment to promoting peace, security and prosperity.
The president added that bilateral ties have been further strengthened by the vibrant Pakistani-American community, whose contributions continue to enrich both societies and serve as a bridge of friendship and understanding.
Describing Pakistan-US relations as being on an upward trajectory, Zardari emphasized the importance of sustained engagement in energy security, trade and investment, defence, counter-terrorism and other areas of mutual interest.
He said a strong Pakistan-US partnership contributes directly to regional peace and security and appreciated the trust shown by the United States in Pakistan’s mediatory role in negotiations with Iran.
President Zardari reiterated that lasting solutions can only be achieved through dialogue, diplomacy and de-escalation, and said the people of Pakistan would be honoured to host President Trump in Islamabad at his earliest convenience.
