KARACHI (Dunya News) -The Pakistani rupee strengthened slightly against the US dollar in the interbank market on Friday, with the local currency posting modest gains at the close of the trading week.
According to market data, the US dollar declined by three paisas, settling at Rs278.12 in the interbank market, compared with the previous day's closing rate of Rs278.15.
The marginal appreciation reflects continued stability in the foreign exchange market amid improving macroeconomic indicators and steady dollar liquidity.
Currency traders said the movement was relatively minor but highlighted the rupee's resilience in recent trading sessions as investor confidence remained broadly stable.
The interbank exchange rate serves as a key benchmark for Pakistan's financial markets and is closely watched by importers, exporters and investors for signs of currency trends.
Market participants will continue monitoring external account developments, remittance inflows and global economic conditions for their potential impact on the rupee in the coming weeks.
