GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) – A woman has been arrested after allegedly setting her four-year-old daughter on fire in an attempt to dispel black magic.
The incident took place in the Badr Town area of Gujranwala, where the child suffered severe burns and later died, according to police.
Police said the girl sustained burns to around 60% of her body after the suspect allegedly used a burning stove to inflict injuries on her. She was rushed to hospital for treatment but succumbed to her injuries.
The suspect was arrested shortly after the incident. Police also detained her two sons and another daughter as part of the investigation.
According to police, the woman's two sons and daughter allegedly restrained the child while burning her.
