ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) -Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar on Thursday said that comprehensive reforms are being introduced in the prison system across the country.
Addressing the National Conference on Prison Reforms at the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Azam Nazeer Tarar said that the government firmly believes in the rule of law. He said that reforms in the prison and judicial systems would make the justice process more efficient and accessible.
He said the government is committed to ensuring equal treatment to all prisoners. He said the reforms would provide relief to inmates who are separated from their families.
He added that the government is ensuring the provision of healthcare, education, and vocational training facilities for prisoners. The Law Minister emphasized the need to transform the culture within prisons and align prison laws with modern requirements.
