Sun TV Network was hacked, disrupting broadcasts and internal systems. Hackers displayed flags on screen. Experts raise concerns over India’s cyber security weaknesses after ransomware attack

NEW DELHI (Dunya News) – India’s Sun TV Network has reportedly been hacked by cyber attackers, leading to a temporary suspension of its broadcast services and disruption across multiple television channels.

According to reports, the hackers gained access to the network’s internal broadcast management portal, which resulted in the transmission of altered and interrupted programming across various Sun TV channels.

During the cyber intrusion, hackers displayed visuals of the Pakistani flag along with banners reading “Pakistan Zindabad” on screen after halting regular broadcasts. In a separate phase of the attack, a ransomware incident was also reported in which around 1,800 domain systems were allegedly locked.

Cybersecurity experts say these incidents raise serious concerns about India’s cyber defense capabilities and its claims of strong digital security infrastructure.

They further noted that the attacks have exposed weaknesses in the country’s IT systems, highlighting significant administrative and technical gaps within India’s cybersecurity framework.
