PTI govt presented strong budget in KP, merit prevails: Barrister Gohar

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar praised KP budget, defended merit-based governance, denied any conspiracy against Sohail Afridi, and said the party remains united.

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said on Wednesday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government had presented a strong budget in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, adding that governance in the province was being carried out strictly on merit.

Speaking to the media in Peshawar, Barrister Gohar said some individuals were politicizing the appointment of doctors in the province. He said he had spoken to Khaliq ur Rehman and expressed satisfaction over the doctor recruitment process.

He added that the party’s focus remains on the Kashmir elections, while noting that negotiations are currently not taking place on the ground.

Barrister Gohar said shaking hands with Mahmood Khan Achakzai should not be interpreted as surrender, adding that PTI represents the people and will continue to raise issues concerning public interests.

KP opposition rejects budget, calls it jugglery of words

He said the party approaches courts on every issue related to PTI founder Imran Khan.

The PTI chairman said democratic differences exist within the party and added that discussions with the chief minister regarding MNAs would continue. He said no one was currently opposed to Sohail Afridi becoming chief minister.

Barrister Gohar stressed that all party members follow the directives of PTI founder Imran Khan, stating that Sohail Afridi was selected by the party founder and therefore has full backing.

He further said party leaders remained united on the budget and the same unity would be seen in future matters as well. He added that Ali Amin Gandapur is not seeking the chief minister’s seat again, while rejecting reports of any conspiracy against Sohail Afridi or plans to replace him.
