(Dunya News) - Pakistan and India have exchanged lists of prisoners under the provisions of the 2008 Consular Access Agreement, diplomatic sources confirmed.
According to the sources, Pakistan provided India with a list containing the names of 715 Indian prisoners currently in Pakistani custody. The list includes 409 civilian prisoners and 306 fishermen.
The list was handed over to the Indian government in New Delhi by Saad Warraich, the head of Pakistan's diplomatic mission in India.
In Islamabad, Geetika Srivastava, the head of the Indian mission in Pakistan, submitted India's list of Pakistani prisoners to Pakistani authorities.
The exchange of prisoner lists is carried out twice a year in accordance with the 2008 Consular Access Agreement, which requires both countries to share information about civilians and fishermen detained in each other's custody.
