Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stressed rule of law, constitutional supremacy, and democratic values on Parliamentary System Day

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, in her message on the occasion of Parliamentary System Day, has called for strengthening constitutional supremacy, rule of law, and collective efforts by all democratic forces for public welfare.

Extending congratulations to all democratic stakeholders, she said the day highlights the importance of protecting public rights and promoting parliamentary traditions.

She stated that the parliamentary system is the guarantee of a stable, prosperous, and developed Pakistan, adding that strengthening parliamentary supremacy, constitutional rule, and democratic values is essential for national progress.

Maryam Nawaz said the parliamentary system is the most effective means of resolving public issues and ensuring that citizens’ voices are included in decision-making processes.

She added that legislation aimed at protecting human rights and ensuring the provision of basic rights to citizens remains a fundamental objective of democracy.

The Chief Minister further said that parliament is not merely a law-making institution but a respected body that shapes the nation’s thinking, wisdom, and future direction.

She emphasized that effective representation of all segments of society, especially women and youth, further strengthens the democratic system.

Maryam Nawaz said the Pakistan Muslim League (N) believes in constitutional supremacy, democratic stability, and transparent governance, adding that under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, efforts for good governance, effective legislation, and public welfare continue in Punjab.
